Dasun Madushan (දසුන් මදුෂාන්, sometimes written Dasun Madhushan) is a Sri Lankan singer who rose to national attention as the winner of the fifth season of Sirasa Superstar, the islandwide televised singing contest. Known for a soft, romantic pop voice, he is best remembered for hits such as Adare Pawasala and his debut solo singles, which gave him a lasting place in the contemporary Sinhala pop scene.
Madushan was born in 1996 and studied at Prince of Wales’ College, Moratuwa. Music ran in the family: his elder brother, Kasun Madushanka, had also competed on Sirasa Superstar a season earlier.
Dasun Madushan won the Sirasa Superstar season 5 grand final, a victory that made him one of the youngest reality-show champions in Sri Lankan television history. During the competition he performed crowd favourites including “Sinhayo”, “Menik Apsaravi” and “As Deka Piyaana”, which built the audience that followed him into his recording career.
His first recorded outing was a duet on the “Swapna” theme song, sung alongside fellow Superstar winner Shanika Madumali. He then launched his own catalogue with the solo singles “Ansathu Wee” and “Mage As Walin”, both of which are hosted here in Sinhala script with English translation. From there he built a steady run of romantic singles that remain popular for streaming and weddings.
Among his compositions, Dasun Madushan also writes and produces his own material, including Alokayak, recorded with Devashrie, and Sewanallata Paata.
Dasun Madushan’s appeal sits in melodic, emotionally direct love songs delivered in an accessible pop register, the kind of tracks that travel well among younger Sri Lankan listeners and the diaspora. For readers searching either spelling, Dasun Madushan and Dasun Madhushan refer to the same artist. Each of his songs on this page presents the lyrics in the original Sinhala script alongside a transliteration in English (Singlish) and an English translation.
