Sihine Soya Enawa Lyrics
Sawane raw de peradaa handuu raawe
Gilihe denethin gini jaalaa wiyowe
Watilaa ridunath hada wimaane
Nosalee dalweyi sitha prathaape
Dawunu niwahane alu haa pibidee soyaa enawa
Maru haa wathiree sihine soyaa enawa
Rawataa paagaa walaluuwath wilaape
Therapaa nerapaa anda wuuwath musaawe
Watilaa ridunath hada wimaane
Nosalee dalweyi sitha prathaape
Dawunu niwahane alu haa pibidee soyaa enawa
Maru haa wathiree sihine soyaa enawa
Mage handa walalanu ba
Neth anda karalanu ba
Sihinaya walakanu ba
Yali maa nawathanu ba
Yali maa nawathenna

In my ears echoes the voice that wept long ago,
flames of separation slip from my eyes
Though fallen and wounded, in the mansion of the heart,
unshaken, the heart’s own glory keeps burning
From the ashes of the burned-down home, waking, I come seeking,
lying down with death itself, I come seeking the dream
Though you deceived, trampled, and buried me in lament,
though you pressed and shoved and blinded me with lies
Though fallen and wounded, in the mansion of the heart,
unshaken, the heart’s own glory keeps burning
From the ashes of the burned-down home, waking, I come seeking,
lying down with death itself, I come seeking the dream
You cannot bury my voice,
you cannot blind my eyes,
you cannot block the dream,
you cannot stop me again,
I will not be stopped again

Sihine Soya Enawa Song Meaning and Interpretation
A fierce, resilient song about refusing to be beaten down. It opens in pain, the voice of someone who wept long ago still echoing in the ears, flames of separation slipping from the eyes, and then immediately turns defiant: though fallen and wounded, within the mansion of the heart an unshaken glory, prathaapa, keeps burning. Hurt has not put the fire out.
The central image is rising from ashes. From the ashes of a burned-down home the singer wakes and comes seeking, and, lying down even with death itself, he comes seeking the dream. He names what was done to him without flinching: you deceived, trampled and buried me in grief; you pressed, shoved and blinded me with lies, and still the heart’s glory burns on, unshaken.
The song ends as pure, ringing defiance, a list of things his enemy cannot do: you cannot bury my voice, you cannot blind my eyes, you cannot block the dream, you cannot stop me again. And the final vow: I will not be stopped again. Sung by Mihindu Ariyaratne, it is an anthem of survival and resolve, about a person betrayed and broken who rises from the ashes to keep chasing the dream no one can take from them.
