Devidunge Balawath Kriya Lyrics
Dewidunge balawath kriyaa
Samadaama maa dakinawaa
Dewidunge puduma kriyaa
Samadaama mata penawaa
Ihala ahase..polo thalaye
Pudumade dewidun karayi
Aakaase maawath thanoo
Ralu diyabe maawath sadoo
Maru kathare maalaga wisoo
Dewithumani obamayi raju
Ihala ahase..polo thalaye
Pudumade dewidun karayi
Rogayedee maa suwakeroo
Wipathedee maa laga wisoo
Dathinma maa watakeru
Piyathumani obamayi raju
Dewidunge balawath kriyaa
Samadaama maa dakinawaa

The mighty deeds of God,
always I see them,
the wondrous deeds of God,
always they appear to me
In the high heavens, on the face of the earth,
God does his wondrous things
Who made a road across the sky,
who made a road through the rough sea,
who dwelt beside me in the desert,
O God, you yourself are the King
In the high heavens, on the face of the earth,
God does his wondrous things
Who healed me in my sickness,
who stayed by me in disaster,
who surrounded me with his own hands,
O Father, you yourself are the King
The mighty deeds of God,
always I see them

Devidunge Balawath Kriya Song Meaning and Interpretation
This is a hymn of praise for the mighty and wondrous works of God, sung by someone who has trained himself to notice them everywhere. Its refrain is a testimony of attentive faith: the mighty deeds of God, always I see them; the wondrous deeds of God, always they appear to me. God’s works are not rare or hidden; the believer sees them constantly, in the high heavens and on the face of the earth.
The verses move from God’s power over creation to his care in the singer’s own life. The first recalls great biblical wonders, who made a road across the sky, who made a road through the rough sea, echoing the parting of the waters, and who dwelt beside me in the desert, recalling how God accompanied his people through the wilderness. The same God who did those cosmic things is crowned with the refrain, you yourself are the King.
The second verse brings that power down to intimate rescue: who healed me in my sickness, who stayed by me in disaster, who surrounded me with his own hands. The God of the parted sea is also the God who sat at a sickbed. What the listener is left with is a way of seeing the whole of life as full of God’s works, from the heavens to the healing of one person, and a heart moved to crown the same Lord over the vast and the small alike.
