On the cold night, shining far away, the dreamed-of night comes true,
carrying many wishes in the heart,
Jesus comes seeking out the darkened hearts,
and divine love is felt forever . .
On the withered field of my heart, the flowers of love,
the glory of that love is felt through the cold,
a single sigh lingered there, and the heart forever bound the world’s people,
in that cattle-shed . .
On the cold night, shining far away, the dreamed-of night comes true,
carrying many wishes in the heart,
Jesus comes seeking out the darkened hearts,
and divine love is felt forever . .
Hidden in the darkness of my heart, veiled in colour,
the glory of that light is seen among the night stars,
feelings of compassion in the grove of my heart
flowed like a river of nectar, Jesus, it is you . . .
On the cold night, shining far away, the dreamed-of night comes true,
carrying many wishes in the heart,
Jesus comes seeking out the darkened hearts,
and divine love is felt forever . .

Seetha Raka Song Meaning and Interpretation
This is a gentle Marians Christmas carol about light and love arriving in the dark. On the cold night, it begins, something shines far off and the dreamed-of night comes true; carrying a heartful of wishes, Jesus comes seeking out the darkened hearts, and a divine love settles in, felt forever. It frames the season as a quiet answer to loneliness and gloom.
The imagery is of a barren heart coming into bloom. On the withered field of my heart, the singer says, flowers of love appear, and even through the cold he feels the glory of that love. A single sigh lingers in the humble gawa maduwa, the cattle-shed of Bethlehem, and from there, he says, the heart bound all the world’s people together for good.
The last verse turns inward and grateful. What was hidden in the darkness of his heart is now veiled in colour, and the glory of that light shows among the night stars. Feelings of compassion, he says, flowed through the grove of his heart like an amaa ganga, a river of nectar, and he names the source simply: Jesus, it is you. It is a soft, personal carol about a cold night made warm by love.
