A young woman is talking to the one she loves, and the whole song is her promise of the evening she wants to share with him. She tells him she will make up sweet little stories and tell them to him, and once the sun has set she will sing for him in the moonlight. There is nothing complicated here, just the simple happiness of a girl in love who wants her beloved near her, telling him over and over that her heart belongs to him.

The song moves the way that kind of love does, gently and without any worry. First she sets the scene she is dreaming of, evening, moonlight, songs and stories shared between the two of them. Then she notices how their two hearts have grown into one: her hopes now live with him, and his hopes live with her. By the last verse she admits there is a feeling that has settled inside her that she cannot fully put into words, and she realises it is simply him. Thinking of him makes her chest fill up with joy.
