Look at me, with me by your side
Will you give me your love, my heart asks
With me, through this whole life
Will you offer me a life
Your face sets my heart trembling
In this song
In a life lived so lightly
A single rose withered and fell
Ever since you came close to me
This world has turned beautiful
If only you were near me
My heart would be full, made lovely
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream
Is this what they call love
This feeling, every single time I see you
I don’t know what to do
You have to tell me
Ever since you came close to me
This world has turned beautiful
If only you came near me
My heart would be full, made lovely….
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream
You are a sweet dream
You have to tell me
Is this what they call love
This feeling, every single time I see you
ohhh ooo
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream
I never knew you were this close to me
You are a sweet dream

Ma Samagin Ma Desa Bala Song Meaning and Interpretation
A young man is falling for someone and can barely believe it is happening. The song opens with him almost pleading, asking her to look at him, to keep him by her side, to give him her love and share her whole life with him. It is the rush of new feelings, half hope and half nervousness, that so many of us know from the first time we let ourselves like someone.
What carries the song is the way her presence changes everything around him. He says her face sets his heart trembling, and that ever since she came close, the whole world has turned beautiful. That is the heart of it: nothing about the world has actually changed, only the way he sees it now that she is in it. When he sings that “a single rose withered and fell,” he is gently admitting that life before her felt light but empty, a small loss passing by unnoticed, until she arrived and gave the days color and weight again.
The most touching line keeps coming back like a refrain, “I never knew you were this close to me, you are a sweet dream.” He is amazed that someone he could only have imagined is suddenly right there, near enough to reach, and it feels almost too good to be real. By the end he is still unsure of himself, asking out loud whether this feeling that hits him every time he sees her is really love, and begging her to tell him, because he doesn’t trust his own heart to name it yet.
What you are left holding is that very particular sweetness of early love, the wonder of finding that the person you dreamed about is real and close, mixed with the shy fear of not yet knowing where you stand. He hasn’t been told he is loved back. He is simply hoping, and asking, and letting himself believe for a moment that the dream might be true.
