I was really terrified – I nearly lost my life
At midnight, a ghost caught me

I had gone to a party – just to sing some songs
By the time I was heading back, it was almost 12
I stepped out onto the road, walking past the cemetery
With my guitar in hand, just trying to get home

Suddenly I heard a sound, and turned around
A black dog jumped at me, barking like mad
As I turned to run away, there he stood –
A tall, shadowy man blocking the road

(And I was really terrified… nearly lost my life…)

Then I saw someone coming from a distance
I ran straight there – and this is what happened:
When I got closer, it looked like a fairy-tale girl
She told me, “Don’t be afraid of me”

“You play guitar so well – and sing with such style
I’d love to dance to your rhythm,” she said
So I strummed my guitar and sang a groovy tune
She danced along, and I started to feel uneasy…

I told her, “It’s not right to dance in the middle of the road
Let’s head over that way” – and we walked toward the cemetery
I kept playing guitar, singing lively baila songs
But what I saw felt unreal – a corpse rising and dancing!

I said, “Please, stop dancing – let’s go home”
“My mother would actually like you”
When I said that, she jumped into the sky –
And then fell back down to the ground with a loud whoosh

She started chasing me – I was scared stiff
Her teeth were long, and her eyes burned like fire
I raised my guitar, grabbed it by the neck
And smashed it on her head – wood flying everywhere

Hearing the noise, the security guards came running
They threw water on me and dragged me back home
When my mother heard the whole story
She did a ritual to chase away the spirit and rescue me
