A profound, quietly angry song that reimagines rain as the tears of the sky, sky-drops, akaasa bindu, falling when the heavens can no longer bear to watch human cruelty. Rain becomes grief made visible.

The middle sharpens the indictment. The sky, ever giving welfare and watching over all beings, sees with its own eyes the hidden cruelties and the wrongs, and sees how the so-called warmth of the world’s progress actually scorches and blisters every limb, development that burns rather than blesses. And still the refrain returns: at the place it can bear it no longer, do the sky-drops fall?

The last verse names the cruelty plainly: the powerful of the world squeeze the weak and laugh, and the sky, released like a rainbow, gazes forever at a man-shaped thing with no humanity in it at all, a human being emptied of humanity. Overwhelmed, it weeps.
