Nelu Adhikari (also spelled Nelu Adikari, නේලූ අධිකාරි) is a Sri Lankan playback and stage singer active across the 1990s and 2000s, known for romantic Sinhala songs and for sharing a stage and studio with her older brother, the pop singer Athula Adhikari. She is married to the musician Kapila Poogalarachchi, and the three frequently recorded together on the multi-artist albums that defined commercial Sinhala pop of that era.
Adhikari built her catalogue largely through ensemble albums that paired her voice with a recurring circle of singers. Releases such as the 2002 collection that carried Sayure Rala Se and the 2009 set featuring Dukak Danuna placed her alongside Kapila Poogalarachchi, Rookantha Gunathilaka, Athula Adhikari and Amarasiri Peiris. Other sessions paired her with Kashyapa Dissanayake and Annesley Malewana, including the duet Ansathu Malakata (also listed by its opening line, “Ahasata Sonduruda Sanda Ketharam”).
Her recordings lean toward gentle love songs and ballads. Among the tracks hosted on Lyrics-lk with Sinhala lyrics, transliteration and English translation are:
As a member of the Adhikari musical family, Nelu Adikari remains best recognised through these collaborative recordings, which continue to circulate among Sri Lankan listeners and the diaspora.
