Ruwan Hettiarachchi (රුවන් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි, also spelled Ruwan Hettiarachi) is a Sri Lankan pop singer and songwriter from Colombo, known for romantic ballads and teledrama theme songs that blend Sinhala pop with Indian-influenced melody. He reached a wide audience after his 2012 release Nodaka Inna Ba and has stayed a fixture of Sri Lankan wedding and party playlists since.
Hettiarachchi built his following through a steady run of singles and music videos rather than a single film or album. Nodaka Inna Ba, released in 2012, was his early breakout and established the emotive, melody-led style he is associated with. Many of his songs pair conversational, heartbreak-themed lyrics with bright pop arrangements, a combination that travels well to live shows and DJ sets.
Alongside his solo work he writes and performs theme songs for Sri Lankan teledramas, including Induwari. His catchy, upbeat Rawatuna Tharam became a recurring choice at weddings and celebrations.
One of his most-streamed songs is Seetha Maruthe, a romantic ballad whose music video drew tens of millions of YouTube views. He has recorded duets with Sashika Nisansala, including the popular Susumaka Welila (Hamuwemu Aye Sansare). He also wrote and sang Ma Obage Kiya, and composed Mata Me Athmaye for Asha Tennakoon.
Ruwan Hettiarachi is recognized for emotive vocals and arrangements that fold Indian pop colour into mainstream Sinhala pop. For listeners abroad, Lyrics-lk presents these songs with Sinhala script, transliteration, and English translation, so the meaning behind the melody is clear. His catalogue, from wedding-floor favourites to slower heartbreak songs, keeps him among the more widely played contemporary Sinhala pop voices.
