Pasan Liyanage

Pasan Liyanage (පසන් ලියනගේ) is a Sri Lankan music producer, composer, and singer, and the founder of Redfox Records. He is one of the most prolific producers in contemporary Sinhala pop, known for blending Sri Lankan folk and baila textures with hip-hop, dancehall, and electronic production, and for shaping hits performed by a long roster of island vocalists.

Background and career

Liyanage is widely reported to have been born in 1985 in Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. He built his reputation less as a front-of-stage performer than as the studio architect behind other artists’ records, handling composition, arrangement, mixing, and mastering. Through Redfox Records he has produced a steady stream of singles across more than a decade, working with both established names and newer voices in the Colombo pop scene.

Liyanage’s catalogue spans tracks he performs himself and a much larger body of work he composes and produces for others. He sings on and composed Visekari, a collaboration with Bachi Susan, and Kaamashi with Minidu Welgama. His own releases also include Nalagana with Ruwan Hettiarachchi and Maath Mage Hitha Hadagannam (Rathriya Manaram Kiya).

As a composer, Pasan Liyanage has been the production hand behind a wide range of singers. He composed Mage Adariye for Sanka Dineth and Umariya Sinhawansa, Sihine for Sanuka Wickramasinghe, and Chewing Gum Wage Kollo for Yureni Noshika.
