A young man is sitting alone with a heart that has not stopped waiting. The song opens on that long, quiet wait, all the time he spent hoping the person he loves would come back to him, and on a simple certainty he keeps returning to: no one else has ever mattered to him the way she does. He has loved her since one particular day, and he says so plainly, the way you say a thing you are sure of.

What makes the song ache is how he carries that love. There is an image of eyelids pausing right beside a tear and then sending it away, a way of saying he holds the sadness for a moment and then lets it go rather than breaking down. He is chasing a memory of her so strong that it makes him forget even his own breathing, and the only place he can still reach her is inside a dream. In Sinhala love songs the dream is where the separated meet again, and here he says it is in that dream-space that his life gets written fresh, as if loving her is the only thing that gives his days a new page.
