A young man is looking back on a love that feels almost too good to have been real, so he calls it a dream world. The whole song hangs on one word, “මතකයි,” “I remember,” which closes nearly every line like a soft sigh. He saw this dream world, he says, and then he came back from it, and that small phrase tells you everything: whatever this love was, it is now in the past, and he is on the outside of it, holding only the memory.

What he remembers is not a list of events but the feel of being loved. The warmth he describes is “heavy with love,” that full, settled closeness you have with someone when nothing needs to be said. He places it under the sun, the moon and the scattered stars, the whole sky watching, as if to say this love belonged to the natural order of things, ordinary and vast at the same time. In Sinhala song the sun and moon and stars rising together over the earth is a way of saying “for as long as the world turns,” a love meant to last.

That sense of permanence deepens in the last verse, where he remembers their hearts being tied together “so they would never die.” It is the promise of a love that outlasts the lovers themselves. And then the quietest, most intimate line: the comfort the heart feels, the body feels too, and she whispered this to him in secret. What stays with you is the ache underneath all that tenderness. Every warm memory is framed by “I remember,” and the fact that he had to come back from the dream tells you the dream is over. He is not reliving the love so much as guarding what is left of it, the warmth, the whispered words, the feeling of being bound to someone, now kept alive only in memory.
