A young man is so full of love that he feels it in everything around him. The song opens with him standing in a cool breeze, and somehow that breeze carries her scent to him. That is where the feeling begins, with someone so taken by another person that even the wind seems to belong to her.

When the soft, gentle touch of love reaches his heart, he says his heart “sends out new shoots,” the way a plant puts out fresh green leaves. It is a beautiful image in Sinhala. Love does not just make him happy, it makes something inside him grow and come alive, the way the first rains bring a dry plant back to life.

That is exactly where the next picture goes. He compares her love to a flower blooming in a white sandy desert, and to rivers of bliss that feel almost otherworldly. The desert here is his life before her, dry, empty, nothing growing.
