Hada Wiman Dorin Lyrics

Hada wiman dorin, ena pathum pawan
Wihida yai hama, piyambana kalpana
Rase de ama
Mal uyan kohin wil gangul madin
Sugandaya gala.. ekathu wee kithi kewi
Rendei ekwela

Saagaraye sisil weal, nagi nagi binde
Aadaraye supem kean dili dili neage
Aakase sande lapa neatha maki giye
Aadaraye puraane sitha wadi thiye
Udawu wasanthe , sadakal randewa

Mee wadaye gum nadin mathwela imi
Gee thaune wadan wal lesa wadi emi
Lo thalaye aluth pem, kathawak liya
Paa karamu sunil wan walawak soya
Udawu wasanthe , sadakal randewa

Hada Wiman Dorin Lyrics English Translation

From the doorway of the heart’s mansion, wishes come riding on the breeze
Soaring thoughts spread out across everything
They taste like nectar
From flower gardens, from the koel’s call, through lakes and rivers
A fragrance flows, gathering, mingling
And all of it weaves together as one

Cool waves of the ocean rise and rise and break
The lamp of a sweet, true love glows brighter and brighter
The shadow on the moon in the sky has faded away
An old love settles deep in the heart again
This is our spring, let us stay together forever

Drunk on the humming melody of the bee
I come singing words like the notes of a song
Across the face of the world I will write a new love story
Let us go searching for a cool blue cloud
This is our spring, let us stay together forever

Hada Wiman Dorin Song Meaning and Interpretation

A young man is so full of love that the feeling seems to spill out of him and into everything around him. That is where this song lives. From the very first line he pictures his heart as a great mansion, and his longing and hopes drift out through its doorway on the breeze, floating over the whole world. Love has made him light. His thoughts take flight, and the sweetness of it tastes to him like ama, the nectar of the gods.

He looks at the world the way you only do when you are in love, and finds his own feeling answered everywhere. The fragrance rising from flower gardens, the call of the koha (the Asian koel, the bird whose song Sri Lankans link with spring and new beginnings), the scent drifting over lakes and rivers, all of it gathers and mingles into one warm sense that the world itself is in love with him. The cool waves of the sea rise and break over and over, and he reads them as the steady pulse of his own heart. When he says the lamp of love burns brighter, he means a flame that does not flicker but only grows, the opposite of a passing crush.

The loveliest image comes when he says the dark shadow on the moon has faded away. In Sinhala the moon usually carries a small blemish, the sandа lapa, the mark people see on its face, and here that blemish vanishes. The meaning is plain and tender. Whatever sorrow or stain once sat on his heart is gone now, and an old love he thought was lost has quietly returned and taken root again. His joy is not new and fragile but something that came back to stay.

By the end he is almost giddy, drunk on love the way a bee is drunk on a flower, and he wants to do something with all this happiness. He promises to write a new love story across the face of the world and asks her to come search with him for a cool blue cloud, a place of calm and shelter to rest in together. The line he keeps returning to says it all: this is our spring, so let us stay together forever. Spring here is not a season but the season of love itself, the warm, blossoming time he never wants to end.
